spending the weekend with R&A aaah so relaxing even though we're in LA - how could I not be relaxed around them? father and son so alike so patient so content. Yet our conversations vibrate with economics, politics, environmental policies, what the future holds. We continue our talk during breakfast in Santa Monica, swimming in the ocean at Topanga Beach, dinner at Luna Negra in Pasadena. 
It's so wonderful to have them visit me here in my little cottage - home away from home. R&A are on a summer road trip along the West Coast. They leave tomorrow for the Bay Area and then on up through Marin, Sonoma, to Arcata, then Eugene, Portland and back to Seattle. All down the coast they have been visiting friends and family: Peter, Kristy and Forrest in Portland, John and Sheila in Eugene, Dad and Susan in the Bay Area (just in time for Dad's 72nd birthday!) and Mark&Yvonne in Berkeley. On the way up they'll see Kevin, Ingrid and Darwin at Point Reyes then a weekend in Arcata. They are looking forward to a fishing trip with Robert.
